Montessori Preschool and Daycare began in January of 1979.
The school was housed in the Community Room at the Rinn United
Methodist Church at 3783 Weld County Road 20 just outside of Longmont,
Colorado. The school started with preschool and daycare programs.
By September of 1979, the school had full enrollment with a waiting
list. Children from Frederick, Firestone, Dacono, Erie, Mead,
Longmont, and the rural community were in attendance at the school.
The ages served were 2.5 to 6 years of age.
In 1993 the school was growing leaps and bounds. At that time
the Rinn Church was embarking on a huge addition and remodeling
project on their building. The Board of Directors began to look
for a new location for the school. On December 1, 1993, the ground
was broken for the new location for the Children's House of Weld
County. Just one mile south of the Rinn Church location, the Board
of Directors felt that it was an appropriate location to be able
to serve the same families. Front Range Alternatives, Inc. custom-built
the new building on 1.5 acres at 3801 Weld County Road 18 in Erie,
Colorado. The new location has four classrooms, six bathrooms,
a full kitchen, an office, a playground area, and a baseball diamond.
The school is licensed through the Colorado Department of Human
Services to serve 70 children.
The school offers the following Montessori programs:
- Preschool
