The Children's House of Weld County provides the following programs:

  • Preschool
  • Pre-Kindergarten
  • Kindergarten
  • Daycare
  • Summer Camp

The Montessori Preschool program is offered 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-days-per-week from 8:30 until 11:30. For children to best benefit from the Montessori program a five-day-per-week program is suggested. The class is composed of thirty children ages ranging from 2.5- to 4-years-of-age. Both independent and group activities are implemented daily. Both Spanish and Sign Language are introduced to the students. Monthly field trips are planned to enhance the children's awareness of the world around them.

The Montessori Pre-Kindergarten program consists of 4- and 5-year-old children in a class of 15 students. Students are enrolled in the program the year before their Kindergarten year for a five-day-per-week program from 8:30 until 11:30. The goal of this program is to prepare the student for their Kindergarten year. Monthly field trips are planned by the classroom teacher.

The Montessori Kindergarten program is offered from September through May. This class is composed of 5- and 6-year-olds in a class of 15 students. It is offered from 8:30 to 11:30 on a five-day-per-week basis only. The goal of this class is to prepare the students for first grade. Activities that are included in the class stress early reading and math skills. Monthly field trips are also taken by this class.

Each classroom is structured to meet the individual needs of each age group. The rooms are furnished with low shelving so that the children can choose their own activities. Age appropriate activities are encouraged. The children learn at their own pace, at their own level without competition. While exploring various activities in the classroom, the children learn by discovery. Activities are structured to have a built-in control of error so that the children may do self-correction. The directress (teacher) of each class directs the children so that they may best benefit from the environment. Academic, social, emotional, and physical needs are of utmost importance to the staff at Children's House.

The school is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm for daycare purposes. Students who participate in the academic programs may also attend the daycare program if care is needed. A complimentary breakfast is served to all students who arrive between 7:00 and 8:00 am. A snack is served in the morning (10:00 am) and the afternoon (4:00 pm). Daycare students bring a lunch each day. Refrigeration is offered to those who need to keep their lunch cold until lunch time. Staff members will warm up lunches for children who require heating (by microwave). A side dish and milk are served each day with lunch. Children are required to have a nap time each afternoon. Each child will need to bring their own blanket and pillow for nap purposes. A cubby space will be assigned to each daycare child to store their bedding for nap. Each afternoon a group activity is offered. Children are free to play inside or outside in the afternoons (weather permitting) as a teacher is stationed in each area. Daycare is offered on a 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5- days-per-week program, depending on the needs of the family.

The school is open to students ages 2.5- to 6-years-of-age for the Summer Camp Program. This program runs during the months of June, July, and August. Many outdoor activities are planned for this program. The children are involved in a Summer Reading Program at our local library, which encourages reading skills. Swimming lessons are also offered off-site for children to learn the important skills of water safety and swimming. A full Montessori environment is available for students to enhance their academic growth also. Both full and part-time positions are available for students.
