Susan Halkin
Director and Teacher

Susan founded the school in 1979. She received her Montessori Teacher Training in Chicago in 1973. She has taught in Chicago, New York, and Denver, before settling at The Children's House. Susan and her husband have a daughter and a son.

Tori Sekich
Sign Language Specialist and Teacher

Tori will be doing a daily lesson of sign language in both classrooms this year. She will be active in the West Side class. Tori has been at the school since 1989. She has also taught at several other centers in the area. She has a son and a daughter.

Karen O'Hare
Teacher

Karen has been with the school since 1998. She has also taught at several other centers in the area. Karen will be teaching in the West Side class. She and her husband Steve have one daughter and two sons.

Sherry Zimmerman
Teacher

Sherry will be teaching in the West Side class. Sherry received her Montessori Teacher Training Certification in Boulder in 2003, and is presently working on becoming Director Qualified. She has been with the school since 2001. Sherry and her husband Kevin have one daughter.

Rosemary Gennari
East Side Teacher

Rosemary is new to our staff in January 2008. She works from 9:00 to 5:00 daily. Rosemary has experience working with students with special needs. Rosemary and her husband have one daughter.

Christina Stott
Assistant Director

Christina is new to our staff as of January 2008. She is director qualified with many years of experience. Christina teaches the First Moves movement program on Tuesday afternoons at the school. She also works the closing shift, from 3:00 to 6:00 daily. Christina and her husband have one daughter.

Krissy Jiminez
Teacher

Krissy has worked at the school since 2006. She works in the afternoons and helps to close the school daily. Krissy has one son and two daughters.

Heather Honstien
East Side Teacher

Heather has worked at the school since 2006. She works from 8:30 to 4:30 daily. She is continuing her college education.

Bobi O'Loughlin
New Staff Member

Bobi will be teaching 3 days a week in the East Side Class. Bobi is Montessori trained and has 30+ years experience from preschool to college. Bobi and her husband John have 3 sons. Bobi is also a therapeutic and able-bodied riding instructor.

Anna Chavez
Teacher's Assistant

Anna has worked at the school since 2007. She works from 3:00 to 5:30 daily and assists with the closing shift. Anna is a student at Frederick High School.

Norah Shaw
Classroom Assistant

Norah has worked at the school since 2006. She assists in either of the classrooms from 8:30 to 11:30. In addition to helping us out at the school, she aids her younger sister, who is wheelchair-bound.

Ginny Gage - M.A., C.C.C. - SLP
Speech and Language Pathologist

Ginny is a pediatric speech and language pathologist who has been working for 8 years with young children with communication disorders. She works with children in their homes, schools, and daycare settings on stuttering, speech pronunciation, and language development.

Ginny recommends a hearing screening prior to an initial evaluation. All school districts will test for hearing.

Ginny is a participating provider for Medicaid, Colorado Access, and Humana. She can also bill Blue Cross, Blue Shield, GEHA, and many others. If your insurance will not cover her services, she will work payment on a sliding scale according to your income. You can reach Ginny Gage at 720-353-8405.
